Ang Lee

  1. I thought you both did really well at discussing your main points. Ang Lee directed many great films including Broke Back Mountain which I thought was really risky. Most people feel uncomfortable bringing up controversial topics such as homosexuality, yet Lee filmed it this movie anyway and it was a hugeeee hit!! You guys did great and really knew what you were talking about.

  3. Very well done, I don't watch a lot of movies so I was unsure of who he was but I found it interesting how he was introducing elements of foreign films to the American populace through his films. You also did a good job using the slides to help the presentation.

  4. I thought that your presentation was very detailed and informative. I didn't know that Lee was the director of some of the movies I've seen. I can't believe that an immigrant would break down barriers that American directors wouldn't think about doing. I really liked that you started with a quote.

  5. The introduction to the presentation really grasped my attention. I think that a quote is one of the most effective tools in starting off to any piece of work. I learned that Ang Lee had much more to his movies than just entertainment. His use of unspoken dialogue was something I had no idea he implemented in his movies.

  6. What i learned about Ang Lee was that when he makes a film he like to head a mixes of American style of film and also Chinese film, which both styles are completely different. The presentation was set up really well and both presenter know all the information about Ang Lee that they want to talk about.

  7. I like how one of your main points was how him being foreign made him create such a controversial movie. Gay rights are a huge topic right now and Broke Back Mountain was basically at the turning point for homosexuals speaking out if not the cause.
Making points and supporting with evidence is definately your strong suit in your presentation. Your points were also interesting and relevant.

  8. content: Anglee was an immigrant from thailand who became one of the greatest directors, directing movies with both Asian and American influence. He also won a golden globe for broke back mountain, which i didn't know he directed.

Style: I think the slides were very nicely done, great organization and very good visuals. I also liked the clip at the end. Nice work

  9. It was interesting to find out that his family took him to a foreign and an american movie each week. The clip that was showed, it was cool to hear that Ang took an hour to have a conversation with the actor about what should be in their pockets!

  11. I had never heard of Ang Lee before and ive never even seen brokeback mountain so this was basically full of new information for me. I thought it was nice how he fought for his fathers approval and once his father told him he apporved he made his best movie ever.
